I had NO idea, for instance, that people buy a lot of pet bunnies for Easter… and then turn them in to shelters. That’s so sad. Bunnies are people too. Rabbits can be great pets, but people need to learn about them before they run off and get one for a  pet. It’s not that they’re more difficult per se than cats or dogs. They just have different needs.  Nobody should get a pet they’re not prepared to keep and care for.

If you would like to adopt a rabbit, learn something about having bunnies here. Then at Petfinder you can see the adoptable rabbits available from all over. On the left hand side there at Petfinder you can do a search just for adoptable bunnies from your area, too!

Find a bunny to love and care for and they will make you smile.

I’m psyched! All the #Nipclub functions, including this one, work toward a goal of helping one 501c3 animal charity a month. #Nipclub Monthly will be a 24 hour pawty for it inspired by #Pawpawty. I’m organizing it as its own entity under the #Nipclub umbrella and if #Pawpawty comes back, this can be rolled back out without changing the original #Nipclub which continues on whatever else goes on. #Nipclub Monthly volunteers are coming from folks who have  worked with #Pawpawty and who work with Thursday #Nipclub and some new people. So it’s 24 hour pawty time again. Yay!

The first #Nipclub Monthly 24 hour pawty will be May 12th Noon EDT to May 13th Noon EDT with #Nipclub to celebrate its 2nd Anniversary and to welcome the new monthly pawty. From there #Nipclub Monthly will be held on the 2nd Saturday of the month on its own. It will be fun! I hope you can join us to have fun and to benefit animal charities!

I am very excited that #SciFiPawty is this weekend! This is the 3rd annual #SciFiPawty and the first two were so much fun that I can’t wait for this one. The 2012 3rd Annual SCIFpawty proceeds will once again benefit One By One Cat Rescue in Kutztown, PA a 501(c)3 no-kill, non-profit organization. This year is in honor of Tippy and Drizzle, @BorisKitty’s foster monsters from One By One who lost their battles with FIP, but not until they gave everyone a ton of smiles.

I’ve been trying on costumes for this year’s pawty. It’s so hard to decide. I want to look good for the Costume Contest, so I want to pick my best one.

There will be barktenders serving Romulan Ale and stuff from the Cookie Cafe At The End of the Universe, DJs playing futuristic music, out of this world quizzes and prizes from great donors and geeky sponsors, Red Shirts with phasers to help out and keep the Romulans away, and more fun than you can shake a sonic screwdriver at.

This is Whiskers. Whiskers is a sweet, older cat who was neglected before her current foster family in the Richmond, VA, USA  area took her in. Sadly, the foster family can’t keep Whiskers.  Our House of the Mostly Black Cats is full up or I’d get her to come live with me and my kittehs. But hopefully you can, or know someone who can, or can help find someone by letting people know about her. Whiskers deserves to enjoy her golden years in a forever home.

Please let me know, if you can bring this sweet kitty happy golden years with a forever home. I will get you in touch with the foster family ASAP.   Whiskers is in the Richmond, Virginia area, but can travel to a good forever home in the US.
